Located along the costa calida and less than an hour away from San Javier airport. Hiring a car is recommended as public transport is not great!
There are two marinas, the larger marina which is well hidden in the centre of Pto Mazarron is lovely, about a mile of beaches, restaurants, promenade, shops as well as the glamorous marina boats!!!
This is not the sort of place for young groups but couples and families will adore it. (Very safe shallow water for children).
Their large weekly market is held on a Sunday morning. There is a tourist info centre which will give you info on museums and attractions to visit. Lots to do including boat and wine tours, theme parks at Murcia, and water park at Vera.
We travelled out of Pto Mazarron and found the Sierra Espunas which has some lovely walks based from El Berro Camp ground. as well as that we travelled into Murcia and Cartagena - both cities recommended for their architecture and shopping!
Although we are not golfers, there are many golf courses in this area and it is dominated by Polaris World Resorts which are very upmarket and fabulous places to stay (we have stayed at Mar Menor & Condado de Alhama resorts).
